I get these two categories from 1 Corinthians 7: Set your boundaries and bring other people into them to help hold you accountable and to confess to when you mess up. The point is to be prepared. After talking with the man, woman, or couple, I always tell them boundaries aren't enough. You need spacial boundaries to succeed with your physical boundaries. What kind of message does that send to them? Dating is a great opportunity to learn more about yourself, and to know and be known by others.

Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in establishing reasonable, healthy, God-honoring emotional boundaries that will help protect both you and your special someone. You should also think back and think ahead. As you begin dating, it is important that you each continue pursuing your individual relationships with God. God designed the two to always be paired together, so knowing how much romance to engage in when the commitment is limited is tricky. There are some things that are better than in dating, most notably the fact that there is much more emotional safety in the commitment of a marriage as opposed to a dating relationship.
